Rust-Oleum makes paint. Loads of it. With hundreds of colours, shades, textures and effects, this brand wants to inspire the world to take a piece of furniture and ‘Make it Yours’.

AMBITION

Create a world of colour, celebrating all of the ways Rust-Oleum paint can transform objects and furniture into something ownable and unique – inspiring people to pick up a can and give it a go.

STRATEGY

As there’s a Rust-Oleum product to suit everyone’s style, it got us wondering what the planet might be like if everything in it had been upcycled and re-styled with their paint. It would be a world where anything was possible. Every object would be unique, cool, vibrant, and completely bespoke to the individual who’d painted it.

SOLUTION

We brought this world to life in a beautiful, symmetrical way that made the upcycled items – and their quirky owners – the focus. We spent weeks planning the rooms and colour schemes. Every item in the TV, magazine ads and video content was refurbished and refreshed with Rust-Oleum. We topped the TV advert off with a movie-trailer-style voice over and quirky soundtrack to create a world without rules.

THE RESULTS

A wonderfully colourful and inspirational campaign that has been listed by The Drum and Campaign. We’re delighted with the end result, and more importantly, so is Rust-Oleum, whose Brand Manager, Laura McDonald, said this: “It’s a work of art. Drummond Central created a concept that perfectly reflected the brand, while beautifully showcasing the product range in a visual masterpiece. They have delivered a stunning campaign that will further cement the Rust-Oleum brand as a thought leader and trendsetter in the paint industry.”
