Team DC headed to the Potteries this week for Stoke City FC's prestigious End of Season Awards.
Celebrating the pride of the Club and their monumental 150th Anniversary, the evening's proceedings took place in The King's Hall in the heart of Potterland. The awards night, honouring the players and fans, saw goalie extraordinaire Begovic scoop four awards and super-fan, Hairy Potter pick up Fan of the Year.
As part of the night, the 2013/14 Away Kit was revealed. The viral, produced in-house here at DC HQ, saw our ‘electric’ idea brought to life in Cinema 4D. Playing on the colour-pop yellow in the away kit, the video handily lead on from our teaser campaign showing just a snippet of the kit.
The Potters will be playing their last match of the season in their electrifying new away kit against Southampton this Sunday.
And what about the 2013/14 Home kit? All we can say is keep your eyes peeled.
You’ve got to start somewhere but be quick
We’ve been working on a new campaign for Newcastle Building Society that’s all about their values, and sums up who they are and what they offer customers. It also features local artist John Coatsworth, whose style fits perfectly with all the qualities of the brand and illustrates everything they stand for.
The first of our communications can be seen tomorrow night when they launch the first of their free mortgage seminars at The Village Hotel, Silverlink. The idea is that it’ll help first-time buyers get a foot on the property ladder. So if you know anyone that could do with a helping hand to buy their first home and needs advice, send them in the Society’s direction. Check out the information below to make sure they get a place. Oooh, exciting. The key to the new door.

What We're Into - April 2013
Get ready - it's time for your monthly hit of what we're loving.
The Boiler Shop Steamer
Newcastle is a hot bed of brilliantly curated pop-up events at the moment (we've already raved about Urban Night Feast and Street Spice). The latest pop-up event, The Boiler Shop Steamer, comes courtesy of NARC Magazine, Wylam Brewery and Riley's Fish Shack. Running on a monthly basis, the Steamer will feature local bands, artisan food and boutique stalls. The first BSS takes place this Friday (5th April).
The Newt Judge Experiment
Does alcohol make you more creative? Dave Birss explores the productivity of a boozy creative session versus a sober meeting of minds.
Super Supperclub
It's hard to ignore the rise of the supperclub movement; this week, we've been frantically trying to get our hands on tickets for The Grazer's April Supperclub. Think smorgasbords, unique cocktails and dinner in a unique setting with complete strangers and you're onto a winner. The latest supperclub trend in the US of A? Foraging for your own food before having it whipped into something tasty by a top chef.
Junior/Mid-weight Graphic Designer? Holler at us.
We're looking for a Junior/Mid-weight Graphic Designer to join the ranks. Interested?
You must have top-notch typography skills, a keener than keen eye for detail and the ability to take work right to the finished product.
As part of Team Design/Art Direction, you’ll be able to put your skills to logos, print, posters and digital projects too. And get this, you can even have a go at TV if you like - we have plenty of opportunities to do so.
Adobe Creative Suite experience is super essential and an avid interest in Photoshop would score you bonus points.
Sound like the role for you? Send your CV and covering letter to info@drummondcentral.co.ukwith Junior Designer or Middle Weight Designer in the subject line and if we like the sound of you, we'll be in touch to find out more.

The DC Bake Off for Comic Relief
It's that Comic Relief time of year and a chance for us to do something funny for money.
We got serious with our challenge for Red Nose Day and held our very own Great British Bake Off event to raise money for this great charity.
The challenge? To show off our baking skills with a savoury or sweet bake that even Paul Hollywood would be proud to call his own.
The results? Well, hats off to team DC, who created some cracking bakes; cakes, samosas, pasties and even a Spice Girl-themed diorama (who'da thunk it?)
Now, you can't have a Bake Off event without your own Mary Berry to judge the proceedings, so we enlisted the skills of Rebecca Miller from The Miller's Daughter to be our own Bezza for the day.
After a gruelling one hour taste test, Rebecca announced our worthy winners: Laura with her 3-tiered Red Velvet Cake (trust us, it was yummy) and Julie's chocolately Jackson Brown-ies.
The best part about the day? We raised a canny £146.22 for Comic Relief. Then we tucked in and felt suitably sick with cake comas.
Are you a Junior Artworker? Then DC wants you.
We're looking for a young and vibrant individual to join Team Production.
You must be able to work to tight deadlines, be fast and accurate, and organised must be your middle name.
You'll need to have excellent skills in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark Express, with a good knowledge of setting up artwork for print. Knowledge of the digital process would also be a huge bonus.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy and fast-paced creative agency with all of us lovely folk.
Sound like the role for you? Then send your CV and covering letter to info@drummondcentral.co.ukwith Junior Artworker in the subject line and if we like the sound of you, we'll be in touch to find out more.

The Gentlewoman
Who runs the world? Queen Bey of course. She's on the cover of the latest edition of The Gentlewoman, Beth and Alice's favourite magazine. If you're a fan of a good paperstock, you'll love this publication.
Dulux's Oreo moment
When a power cut hit the Super Bowl, Oreo delivered one of the greatest social media moments of the year so far - take a look here if you haven't already seen it. This quick thinking method was picked up on by Dulux to coincide with this year's BRIT Awards. They colour-matched the spots on Damien Hirst's statuettes to their own swatches. Take that, Oreo.
Street Spice Festival
We've always got food on the brain at DC. This weekend we'll be getting stuck into some spicy eats at Street Spice, a street-food festival happening in the heart of the Toon. Expect goodies from our favourites Riley's Fish Shack and The Rib Man.
HMS Drummond Central is crewing up
We’re looking for some new bods to join the good ship Drummond Central.
First off, we’re looking for an Account Executive to join Jamie’s team.
You’ll need to be brilliant at liaising with clients over copy, amends and the final approval process, all the while keeping to the stormy seas of tight deadlines, across multiple channels.
You’ll also need to be good at the following: responding to client enquiries, maintaining administrative files, monitoring work in progress and proactively chasing it through the DC system, researching clients' competitors, market places and sectors to ensure an understanding of their business, having an awareness of general trends within the industry, and finally, maintaining ongoing status reports for each client.
You must immediately get what we do and be able to work across a number of clients at any given time. As a fellow DC team member, you must have a sparkling personality, attention to detail, be ambitious and have a sense of humour. Send your CV and covering letter to info@drummondcentral.co.ukwith Account Executive in the subject line and if we like the sound of you, we’ll be in touch to find out more.

We’re also looking for a copywriter. You’ll need to be a brilliant wordsmith capable of coming up with creative ideas, and at the same time, have the power to stop someone in their tracks, make them laugh, make them cry or persuade them to part with their hard earned cash.
You also need to be able to come up with arresting concepts and write in a variety of styles and tones and across a range of media, from brochures and press to TV, radio and online. And whether it’s reams and reams of fabulously long copy or a short and snappy headline, you must be able to turn it round in agency time.
You don’t have to know your pronouns from your intransitive verbs but you must be meticulous when it comes to grammar, tenses, spelling and punctuation and have an extra-keen eye when it comes to spotting that bad boy typo that almost got away.
We need someone who can work as part of team and also alone; someone who can hit the deck running from the word go whilst still producing creative work that blows us away.
You’ll need a rock solid portfolio showcasing a minimum of two years work and it’ll have to be the right fit, for you and us.
Send us your CV and examples of previous work to dan@drummondcentral.co.uk. If we think it could be a match made in copywriting heaven, we’ll be having a word with you.

Together in Apple dreams
Apple's clever new ad shows off the Do Not Disturb function on the iPhone 5, useful for those times when you're dreaming about beating the Williams' sisters at their own game. Huzzah.
Sugar and spice, and all things nice
We're curious about Vine, the new app from Twitter that creates 6-second stop animations on your phone. However, there's nothing quite like a pain-stakingly filmed stop-animation, done the old-fashioned way. Topshop has created a film just like this for its SS13 nail colour collection – the ladies of DC are loving this.
